Brett Moffitt will be driving the #55 Aarons Dream Machine at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The 22-year-old Iowa native Brett Moffitt will get his shot in a top-tier Sprint Cup ride next month. The MWR developmental driver has been chosen to replace a recovering Brian Vickers in the second round of the year at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Team owner Michael Waltrip will drive the No. 55 in the Daytona 500.

Moffitt has seven previous Sprint Cup starts, all last year and finishing as high as 22nd at Dover. Vickers and team say that Moffitt was their top choice for Atlanta, saying no one is ‘more deserving’ than him.

Brian Vickers has been medically cleared to race following the first two rounds of 2015. His body was rejecting a patch that was surgically placed over a hole in his heart a few years ago and it needed to be addressed.
