Yoshimura Suzuki lost both of its riders to injury after Blake Baggett and James Stewart both sustained shoulder injuries at the opening round of the 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Hangtown on Saturday.

Following a third place finish in the first 450 moto Baggett high-sided late in the second moto and sustained a broken collarbone. He completed the remaining laps to finish nineteenth. Baggett announced on his Instagram page that he will undergo surgery on Monday. There is no timetable for his return.

“Felt good to get on the podium and fight for it! Second Moto was going pretty good until I have a high side crash with 5 laps to go. Got up Broken Collarbone and all finished the last 5 laps. Had to grit my teeth to push thru it. Going to get surgery on it Monday morning and hope to be back racing soon.”

In his return to the Pro Motocross Championship, Stewart crashed in the first moto, popping his shoulder out in the process. He was carted off the track with his arm in a sling. The team has yet to announce a return date.
