Sam Hornish won the Sams Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday and after the win he was very emotional in victory lane. Las Vegas is the track that his close friend, Dan Weldon last him life back in 2011 in turn 2 turning the 2011 Indycar season final. A few weeks later, Hornish won his first NASCAR Nationwide series race at Richmond but the victory was bitter sweet for Hornish.

“You know, when I won at Phoenix a couble of years ago, I really didn’t feel like celebrating. With the loss of Dan (Weldon) at this race track, that was….there was a lot of questions in my mind as far as what should I be doing with the rest of my life?  And things like that and also just knowing that you know it could be anybody…..so…..I really didn’t, I really could’t clebrate that win the way I wanted to but I had to basically use my faith to be able to figure out whats the right thing for me,” Hornish said holding back tears in the media center after his win.
